Implement the change you would like to see in your commuinty. Hillsborough County now is accepting applications for the Historic Preservation Challenge Grant Program for the Fiscal Year 2019 cycle of grants. The deadline to submit an application is 3 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019.
The Historic Preservation Challenge Grant Program promotes historic preservation, heritage tourism, and economic development within Hillsborough County. Available grant funds are awarded to selected applicants on a minimum of one-to-one matching basis, not to exceed an award of $250,000 per applicant, per project in any County budget year.
Projects eligible for funding must be located in Hillsborough County (incorporated or unincorporated), and fall within one or more of the following non-residential project types: rehabilitation or restoration of historic structures, compatible additions to historic properties, improvements to historic sites or grounds, and heritage tourism projects. An applicant may be an eligible nonprofit or private individual or entity. It may not be a federal, state, or local government, other public body, agency, department, instrumentality, political subdivision, municipality, or district thereof.
The grant application, submission instructions, and a summary of past awards are available online at HCFLGov.net/hpcg.
