Over 1500 attended the 45th Annual MLK Jr. Breakfast held at the Jw Marriott in downtown Tampa. My wife, TampaBay Tammy and I were in town to take care of our home from hurricane damage and had to extend our stay. We decided to look for tickets to the affair. Fortunately for us, I was able to sit with the CDC of Tampa, thanks to Ernest Coney, Ex. Dir. and Tammy was able to sit with The Skills Center thanks to Celeste Roberts, Ex. Dir. These organizations are two of the leading non profits in Tampa that continue to blaze trails. Rev. Dr. Howard John Wesley of Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria VA was the keynote speaker. The song Goodness of God sung by Franklin Crockett was quite moving.
